ADP’s TotalPay Payment Solution

What is ADP’s TotalPay Payment Solution?
ADP’s TotalPay Payment Solution is the combined payroll services of Full Service Direct Deposit, ADPCheck, and TotalPay® Card. With ADP’s TotalPay, you allow your employees to choose the payroll option best suited to their needs. And whatever choices they make, YOU instantly reduce the level of paperwork flowing through your office. There is no more check writing or reconciliation needed. You create a streamlined work environment that can make your company more productive by freeing up both you and your employees – so you can accomplish the valuable, revenue-generating tasks that keep your company in business.

What is Full Service Direct Deposit? How can it benefit both my company and my employees?
ADP's Full Service Direct Deposit (FSDD) is an electronic employee payment option processed through one of ADP's partner banks. Through the use of direct deposit, FSDD enables your company to save time by eliminating the need to reconcile checks against your payroll account. You also reduce the risk of stolen or misplaced payroll checks – and the possibility of check fraud – with electronic transfers. FSDD also reduces the amount of time your employees spend waiting in bank lines during business hours on payday and give them faster access to their wages. This convenience can increase employee satisfaction and productivity.

What is ADPCheck? How can it benefit my company and my employees?
ADPCheck is a secure payroll document that you can offer your employees who prefer traditional paper checks. With ADPCheck, you can do away with check reconciliation and cut costs by reducing your transactions in your payroll account to one debit per payroll. Because these checks are drawn from an ADP account, you can reduce the risk of external check fraud. Each ADPCheck is delivered stuffed, sealed, and signed by an ADP officer. You even have the option of adding a company logo and corporate officer’s signature.

What is TotalPay® Card? How can it benefit my company and my employees?
TotalPay Card is a convenient “paperless” solution that allows employees to have their funds electronically loaded onto their own debit cards. With TotalPay Card, you can diminish concerns about check loss and fraud. You can also reduce paperwork by eliminating the need to prepare and reconcile paychecks in-house, because ADP manages the entire process. The ease and convenience of TotalPay Card benefits every employee – there is no credit approval needed or banking relationship necessary. By using the TotalPay Card, employees get instant access to their wages on payday – no more standing in lines to deposit or cash checks. Employees can use their TotalPay Card to pay bills and purchase goods and services at participating locations. They can also get cash at participating ATMs nationwide. TotalPay Card offers an extra benefit with TRANSCHECKsSM, which are free paper checks that allow employees to pay bills such as mortgage or rent, or get cash back to the penny.

What are TRANSCHECKs, and how do they work?
To make spending wages to the penny even easier for employees, ADP offers TRANSCHECKs, a convenient supplement to the TotalPay Card. TRANSCHECKs are paper checks that employees can use to “spend to the penny” the funds on their TotalPay Cards. TRANSCHECKs can be used by employees to pay for personal expenses such as monthly mortgage or rent. TRANSCHECKs even allow for free employee encashment at participating Wal-Mart stores, and allow employees to get access to their funds if their cards are lost or stolen. TRANSCHECKs can also be used by employers for one-time “off-cycle” pays that have not been loaded into your company’s payroll system. Instead, funds for these checks are pre-loaded into a special account dedicated to TRANSCHECKs. This convenience allows you to provide payments immediately – bypassing the normal internal check-writing process that, in some instances, can take weeks. Using TRANSCHECKs helps you streamline your account management by using only one account for all off-cycle pays – which gives you central control of your payroll funds.

What is the difference between the STAR TotalPay Card and the Visa TotalPay Card?
The STAR TotalPay Card is a reloadable debit card that you issue to your employees when they first sign up for the TotalPay Card. Every payday, their earnings are automatically loaded onto their STAR TotalPay Cards. Employees can use their STAR TotalPay Cards to pay bills and purchase goods and services at participating locations. They can also get cash at participating ATMs nationwide. The STAR TotalPay Card also features TRANSCHECKs, which are free paper checks that allow employees to pay bills such as mortgage or rent, or get cash back to the penny. There is no credit approval or long application process to qualify for this card.

After receiving their first pay on the STAR TotalPay Card, employees have the option of upgrading on their own to personalized VISA TotalPay Card. The VISA TotalPay Card offers all the same benefits of the STAR Card, but the VISA Card can also be used anywhere VISA is accepted. And if the Visa TotalPay Card is ever lost or stolen and used without permission, the cardholder is covered by VISA’s Zero Liability Policy*. Employees can also load other payments they receive onto the VISA TotalPay Card, including tax refunds, Social Security payments, or child support payments. And the VISA TotalPay Card moves with employees. If they change jobs or have a second job, they can still use the VISA TotalPay Card. Any employer that offers direct deposit can load pay onto the VISA TotalPay Card.
